The person-centred approach believes in every person’s ability to find their own answers to life problems and their own ways to cope with life experiences, based on the idea that natural human potential can be facilitated and encouraged by a unique, trusting relationship between the client and the therapist. It is a client-lead approach and I will support and gently guide you to enable you to find your own solutions.
My focus is on the person, not the problem, allowing you to express yourself any way that you choose. I believe that you are the expert in your own life and I will be there to walk with you on your journey.
I am not here to judge, but to offer a safe, empathic space for you to talk freely and openly about anything, in order to find your own answers and solutions, working on the ‘here and now’. How past events are affecting you day to day.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counselling, I can help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you work through these symptoms and be with you through the process of grief and healing at your own pace.
Sometimes we experience something during our lives that we find hard to deal with, unable to talk to those close to us for fear of upsetting them or unsure how they will deal with it, or they may also have been affected by the same event. Here is where I come in! Offering you a safe space to talk about what is bothering you, working out ways together that will help you cope with life and move forward.
